TAJ MAHAL WITH FOOTSTEPS OF BUDDHA

India Gate

A memorial inscribed with the names of the valiant Indian soldiers who laid down their lives in World War I. The green, velvety lawns at India Gate, particularly, are a popular evening and holiday rendezvous for young and old alike.

Rashtrapati Bhawan (President’s house)

Much of New Delhi was planned by Edwin Lutyens, Lutyens laid out the central administrative area of the city as a testament to Britain's imperial pretensions. At the heart of the city was the magnificent Rashtrapati Bhawan (then known as Viceroy's House) which sat atop Raisina Hill – now the residence of President of India. The Rajpath stretches from the India Gate to the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Parliament House

The Parliament House was designed by Herbert Baker. The circular colonaded structure as originally known as the Circular House, when it was opened in 1927 located at the Sansad Marg, which runs parallel to the Rajpath. The Parliament of India (or Sansad) is the federal and supreme legislative body of India. It consists of two houses – the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.

Jantar Mantar

One of several astronomical observatories raised by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur. The various abstract structures within the Jantar Mantar are, in fact, instruments that were used for keeping track of celestial bodies.

Jama Masjid

Commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and completed in the year 1656 AD Jama Masjid is the country's largest mosque. It lies opposite the Red Fort and is surrounded by a large number of shops, which deal in a variety of goods. The mosque of Old Delhi is both the largest in India and the final architectural extravagance of Shah Jahan with a courtyard capable of holding 25,000 devotees.

Built in yellow sandstone, it combines the best of Hindu and Muslim styles of architecture, standing on 260 pillars supporting 15 domes at varying elevations.

Akshardham Temple

Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi epitomises 10,000 years of Indian culture in all its breathtaking grandeur, beauty, wisdom and bliss. It brilliantly showcases the essence of India’s ancient architecture, traditions and timeless spiritual messages. The Akshardham experience is an enlightening journey through India’s glorious art, values and contributions for the progress, happiness and harmony of mankind.
