The Seven Wonders Of Today

Taj Mahal, Agra, India

Taj Mahal counted in Seven Wonders of the world cajoles all kind of tourists to India. Constructed in mid-1600, the tomb was built in commemoration of Shahjahan beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The best time to view Taj Mahal are sunrise, sunset and especially during full moon nights.

Petra, Jordan

On the edge of the Arabian Desert, Petra was the glittering capital of the Nabataean empire of King Aretas IV (9 B.C. to 40 A.D.). Masters of water technology, the Nabataeans provided their city with great tunnel constructions and water chambers. A theater, modelled on Greek-Roman prototypes, had space for an audience of 4,000. Today, the Palace Tombs of Petra, with the 42-meter-high Hellenistic temple facade on the El-Deir Monastery, are impressive examples of Middle Eastern culture.

Colosseum Of Rome, Rome, Italy

Remarkably, despite the ravages of nearly 2,000 years of weather, wars and urban development, the historic Roman Colosseum stands in its present condition. Up to 50,000 roaring spectators were entertained in this arena, sometimes by the gladiators fighting to the death from humans and fierce wild animals.

The Great Wall Of China, Beijing, China

During its 15th century heyday, the wall snaked over 6,000-kms (3,700 miles). A million warriors garrisoned it to keep out the "barbarians from the north." The first stone was laid around 500 B.C. and the wall wasn't completed until two millennia later. Although most of the wall is now in ruins, the tourist-site portions have been restored.
